WORLD TRADE CENTER MACAU AND MACAU TOASTMASTERS HELD A WORKSHOP ON "SPEAK LIKE A WORLD CHAMPION"
The World Trade Center Macau and the District 80 Macau Toastmasters Club held a workshop on "Speak Like a World Champion" with Mr Lance Miller, the 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking on April 17. More than 100 people attended the workshop, including WTC Macau members, representatives of local corporations and industries, and students.
Mr Lance Miller is a professional public speaker and conducts workshops and training sessions to audiences around the world. In 2005 Mr Lance Miller emerged from a field of over 25,000 contestants from 90 countries and became the Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking.
During this workshop, Mr Lance Miller not only showed his techniques and tips on public speaking but also shared his experience of how he became the world champion of public speaking. He emphasised his "only one" rule of public speaking is to get the message across, and communication sustains the spirit. He stressed that hours and hours of practice and drill were the foundation for delivering an effective public speech.

The World Trade Center Macau (WTCM) officially signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) on August 1, 2005 to enhance cooperation and information sharing, thus creating more collaboration and business opportunities for small and media enterprises (SMEs) of the two regions.
Mr Alberto Marçal, President of the Executive Committee of the WTCM, said that the signing of the MOU could facilitate bilateral trade, investment, technology transfer, joint venture and trade information sharing between the SMEs of Macau and India, which is experiencing significant economic development in recent years. He expected that the MOU could provide a fair and a mutual beneficial platform, offering the SMEs more information on bilateral trade, foreign trade and investment. Trade consultancy service and business advices will also be provided to joint ventures, creating opportunities for cooperation and building good relationship between Macau and India.
Established in 1956, the AIAI is a non-profit making organisation representing the industrial and commercial sectors of India, focusing on the development and promotion of trading, joint venture and technology transfer for industries and businesses in India. Currently, the association has more than 1,400 members, including corporations, shops, professionals and manufacturers, from privately owned companies and public bodies, of which 70% are SMEs.
|World Trade Center Macau Organises Healthcare Seminars in Cooperation with Faculty of Chinese Medicine|
President of World Trade Center Macau, Mr Alberto Marçal, and Director of University Hospital, Mr Xiang Ping, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on December 1, 2005, for organisation of healthcare seminars, introducing traditional Chinese medicine to WTC members for their well being. Under the terms of Agreement, WTC Macau and University Hospital will carry out a series of seminars, workshops and weekly health consultation for WTC Members. In this regard, and in order to draw public attention onto the harmful effects of influenza, World Trade Center Macau and University Hospital held a Flu Laboratory Diagnosis and Chinese Medicine Prevention and Control Seminar on December 9, 2005.
Dr Chui Shiu Hon shared his knowledge and experiences with the participants coming from all walks of life, including WTC members, doctors from Hospital Centre S. Januário and the general public.
