WORLD TRADE CENTER MACAU WILL
CONTINUE TO PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF MACAU
AFTER ITS REVERSION TO CHINA THIS DECEMBER

    Macau's future Government Secretary for Economy and Finance, Francis Tam Pak Yuen, says he is convinced that the World Trade Center Macau will continue to play an important role in the economic development of Macau after its reversion to China this December. Mr Tam, who is one of the future Macau Special Administrative Region Government's five secretaries, told this Newsletter the WTC Macau will continue to benefit the Territory's economic development because of its close relationship with other World Trade Centers abroad, the professional expertise of its members and staff, as well as its valuable contacts with foreign investors and traders. Four WTC Macau Directors appointed to top positions
in future Macau Special Administrative Region

    Macau's Chief Executive-designate Edmund Ho Hau Wah, a former Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the WTC Macau, has appointed four Directors of the WTC Macau to top positions in the post-handover Macau Special Administrative Region.

    Francis Tam Pak Yuen, a former Executive Director and Director of the Board of the WTC Macau, will be Secretary for Economy and Finance, Florinda da Rosa Silva Chan, formerly Secretary of the WTC Macau General Assembly, was appointed Secretary for Administration and Justice.

    Vitor Ng, Executive Director and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the WTC Macau and Liu Chak Wan, Vice-President of the General Assembly of the WTC Macau, were appointed to Mr Ho's 10-member post-handover Executive Council. The council will be the Chief Executive's top advisory body after Macau's reversion from Portuguese to Chinese administration.

    WTC Macau member Fernando Chui Sai On will be Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture.


WTC Macau is proud to present the newest multi-function room in town. The Lotus Room, located on the 6th floor of the WTC Building, occupies a total area of over 1,000 square metres and has a ceiling height of over 5 metres.
